Harley-Davidson of Maryland Closes after 3 decades

Maryland Harley-Davidson closing after 35 years in business

Tina Ice has owned Harley-Davidson of Maryland for three decades, starting in her mid 30's.  But, at the end of February, the doors will close on the Elkridge dealership and Tina and her husband will retire to Wallace North Carolina.

Seven years ago, on the recommendation of Harley Corporate,  Ice built a 36,000 square ft building to take advantage of the booming motorcycle market.  Today that building is up for sale for $5.75 million dollars.

Ice said she had the option of selling the business, but with the weak economy, she said it would have been harder to sell than just to retire, and retirement would "strengthen the other dealers in the area."
