Wreck Victim’s Home Burglarized After Accident

Ivan Murat is accused of burglarizing motorcycle wreck victim's home

Police still don't know what caused Richard Serpico's fatal motorcycle accident last Friday, July 16th, but they do know that on Sunday, two days after Serpico died in the wreck, they found Ivan Murat, 33, of 128 Ridge Road, Valley Cottage and Paula Izurieta, 29, of 17 Smart St., Yonkers allegedly burglarizing Serpico's home.

As reported on  LoHud.com, Serpico's brother in law went to his house and found the pair removing just about everything from the deceased house.  Computers, televisions, DVDs, electronic games, clothing, toiletries and other personal items and "They were even taking his dirty towels," Coulter said.

The report said Murat had known Serpico for close to 10 years.

"They were taking literally everything out of the house," Clarkstown Lt. Charles Delo said. "I've never seen anything like it."

  1. I wouldn’t be so quick to judge. We have a friend that is ill and they have given their house key to us and another couple.
They have instructed us to come and take all their belongs from their home immediately apon learning of their passing or their greedy little family will strip it.
We talked to them about not doing it this way and to go make a will.
They don’t want to do that stressing on what to give to whom. So they just want us to come take whatever we’d like of theirs and move on.

After reading this, I’m not sure I’d want to be arrested for supposedly “stealing” our friends things.

  2. What dirtbags. I’m sure their ass will be ripped off in prison for a few years. What cowards!!

  3. Be carefull you “THEIVES” there are alot of brothers and sisters that would love to teach you some “RESPECT” you should be ashamed but I know that you are not.
