The EPA says it has blocked four Chinese manufacturers from importing ATV's and off road motorcycles. The EPA accuses the companies, Hensim USA, Loncin USA, Peace Industry Group, and Seaseng, of submitting false or incomplete pollution levels information on the compliance forms for approximately 20,000 vehicles imported into the US in 2006 and 2007.
According to a report in the Christian Science Monitor, the EPA said it is considering enforcement action that "could lead to significant financial penalties against the businesses that manufactured or imported these types of recreational vehicles."
According to the report, EPA's action does not affect consumer who may have bought one of the illegally imported vehicles.
