If the record number of motorcyclists who attended Thunder Beach in Panama City Beach Florida this past week is any indication, then the cities of New Orleans and Horry County SC, Murrells Inlet & North Myrtle Beach should expect larger than normal crowds for this weeks bike rallies.
While the attitudes of the politicians in Myrtle Beach have caused promoters to change the focus away from the city of Myrtle Beach to the towns surrounding it, New Orleans Bike Week promoters are hoping the dissatisfaction and controversy over Myrtle will translate into more attendees to the Big Easy.
New Orleans event is officially only a Wednesday through Sunday event, and beings Wednesday May 5th, while the Myrtle Beach event, which has several names, Grand Strand Spring Rally, or just Grand Strand Rally , Cruisin The Coast Spring Rally, Murrells Inlet Spring Rally (and Myrtle Beach Bike Week) begins on Thursday May 6th and runs through Sunday May 16th. Vending locations have changed from year's past and are no longer allowed inside the City of Myrtle Beach. However vendors will be set up in Murrells Inlet, at Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson on Kings Highway and in North Myrtle Beach.
