Advance Carbon Composite Recalls Helmets

Advanced Carbon Composites (ACC) is recalling all model EXT-001, EXT-002, and EXT-003 EXT-004 motorcycle helmets, sizes S/M, M/L, and L/XL. These helmets fail to conform to the penetration requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 218, "Motorcycle Helmets." In the event of a crash, the helmet could be penetrated, possibly causing serious injury to the wearer of the helmet. ACC will notify owners of record and will offer a full refund. The safety recall is expected to begin during May 2010. Owners may contact ACC toll-free at 1-800-300-9813.

  1. I don't care about the recall. I love my helmet and really appreciate the fact that you can adjust the size. I have varying thicknesses of hair cover and all other helmets give me such a headache that it is unsafe to ride my motorcycle when I CAN'T FOCUS for the headaches. I want another. I don't have to have DOT on it.
